What is a UUID?
A UUID (Universally Unique Identifier) is a 128-bit value used to uniquely identify information in computer systems. It's formatted as 32 hexadecimal digits displayed in five groups separated by hyphens.
UUID Versions
- Version 1: Time-based, includes timestamp and MAC address
- Version 4: Random or pseudo-random, most commonly used
