About This Tool
Card Generation Algorithm
This tool generates credit card numbers using the Luhn algorithm (also known as the "modulus 10" algorithm), which is used by financial institutions to validate card numbers. The algorithm works by:
- Starting with the appropriate Issuer Identification Number (IIN) for the selected card type
- Generating random digits for the remaining positions
- Calculating the check digit using the Luhn formula
- Validating that the resulting number passes the checksum test
Card Details
In addition to card numbers, this tool generates:
- Expiry dates within the selected range from the current date
- CVC/CVV security codes (3 digits for most cards, 4 digits for American Express)
